Haiku of Kobayashi Issa

A world of dew,
and within every dewdrop
a world of struggle
-----
From birthing's washbowl
to the washbowl of the dead --
blathering nonsense!

--Kobayashi Issa (1763 - 1828) was a Japanese poet and Buddhist priest known for his haiku poems and journals. He is regarded as one of the four Japanese masters of haiku. His writings are widely available today.
